Having your personal phone as your business phone has it’s downside. Sometimes, I thought it’s a little funny. Here goes…

Scenario #1

Time: 11:53pm (GMT +8)

Phone rings… *fast and furious intro…* (yes I remixed it myself… my fave ah beng ringtone!)

Me: Hello.

XX: Hi, are you feeeeel-beri? the wedding photographer?

Me: erm… yes. (it’s bloody 11pm! btw, my name is wansheng and i am feeling-berri-pissed now!!)

XX: Are you free on [insert date] to shoot my wedding?

Me: I’m sorry, I’m not available… (but if I have a gun, I want to shoot you now…:s)

XX: Wow… got booked so early?

Me: Yeah… I’m sorry, you called a little too late (on both counts)

XX: Do you have anyone else to recommend?

(Me thinks: yah… 周公 is definitely free to shoot for you.)

Me: You can check with xxx… (but please don’t tell him I asked you to call now)

Scenario #2

Time: 2:57am (GMT +8)

*Ting Dong* (incoming sms)

Not very normal to have people asking “how much you charge” at almost 3am. I don’t offer special services.

Anyway, all these happened awhile ago. I guess, most of us still value that little bit of personal time after work. If one really need to talk business, I would appreciate calls before 9pm. Otherwise, I think emails work really well.
