Amazing clouds

Did anyone see the amazing sunset today? Beauty beyond words. I saw a dragon and a phoenix dancing in the skies. These are the days where you wish you had your camera ready. The formation of clouds seem to tell me something, kinda like some information or reminder.

Finished one set of photos tonight. Feeling pretty good. Can’t wait to show it to the couple.

Oh yes, an overseas shoot is in the pipeline. Try to work it out over the next week. We are shooting in Antartica with the penguins and killer whales! Nah, just kidding, somewhere nearer:P

Didn’t take any pictures today. This is something from 2005. The candy floss skies.

last one standing

I went again the following week, it was no longer there. To a “better cause” I hope.

One tree

One scene, so many interpretations. One encounter, so many possibilities.

earth spirits

Migration can be a pain. I’m talking about migration of images to different harddisks. While doing them, I found some images that I took in 2005. I used to go out alone to places like this. It wasn’t planned, but I when I saw this, I stopped my car immediately and decided that “conquer” it. “Conquering” comes with a price. Climbed down a drain, bashed through the bushes and got myself stuck in knee deep mud. I was rewarded with a beautiful sunset that day and sceneries that I’ve never seen in Singapore. Then, I realized the sun was my only source of light.

With my mobile phone’s dying light, I tracked back the same mud and bush, nearly getting lost. Sometimes, we learn the harder way. But it’s all worth it:)

I went home and told my parents about my “findings”. I always love the stories my parents tell me. Superstitious or not, I don’t care. It adds color to my imagination. This is what they told me.

Every forest has some demigods guarding them. As civilization takes over, these spirits have to leave. However, just like everyone else, they’ll need some notice period before moving out. Therefore, the tree is left untouched, until the notice is served.

Amine and Naajia

When I was a 95er (9-5 working people), I used to keep track of days (although I totally hated it), like weekdays, weekends, public holidays, etc. Now I made things simpler, just 2 kinds, funday and holiday. When I got the job on Christmas day, I thought, ok, nice:) My friends went, “you are working on Christmas?!”. I’m like… erm, why not? It turned out to be an extremely memorable one.

It’s a very unique wedding, and a first for me and the couple (I’ll explain that in awhile). My first Malay wedding.  After the formalities in the beautiful Sultan mosque, they requested for a short portraiture session. So I thought, why not just do it in the mosque. Found a spot and we started shooting. Then I noticed their parents and some relatives are watching us. So I went up to them and asked if they are comfortable with people around, they said ok. “How about a kiss then?” “Oh wait… do you think it’s allowed here?” “don’t know, but I think it’s ok.” “Alright, let’s do it then.”

Honestly, it’s the slowest kiss I’ve ever seen. The feeling was totally different, I don’t know why. But I was sweating like mad. Amine’s dad was shouting behind “more! more! more!” It was really funny. I went up to the couple and said “nice, I like it”. Then Amine said, “it’s our first kiss”. “You mean the first in the mosque or the first after you got married?” “No, no… really the first EVER.”

My head suddenly felt light, alot of things going through my mind like it’s almost going to burst. When I finally got a grip of myself, I checked the images… good thing I got it… and more than one:D

It was a beautiful experience. Something that I will remember for a long long time. How does it feel to be kissed the first time? I can’t remember. But I’m sure they will.

i’m not sarcastic, i’m just a little dazed

I just have to blog about this. Sorry to the chap who called last night.

Last night, I slept REALLY early at 8pm. It was REALLY meant to be a 20mins nap. At 1130pm, I received a call for enquries. Ok, I have to say here, I do not encourage calling after 9pm (because after 9pm, the rates actually double… nah, just kidding:P).

Anyway, this is the thing, my radio clock (which I bought recently), hasn’t has the time set properly. When the call came in, it was showing 430am. So here’s a little excerpt from the conversation,

x:  is it a good time to talk now?

me: *looks at clock, showing 430am* i think it’s a little too early (actual time is 1130pm). why not you call back in a couple of hour’s time?

Ok, I’m not trying to be sarcastic, but it just turned out to be (it happens when the brain is sleeping while the mouth is awake)! Sorry about that. I woke up at 6am today and laughed myself silly. Next time I should just NOT pick up the phone when I’m sleeping in case I say something stupid again.

Alrightie! I’m feeling good and mighty today after 10 hours of sleep! Time to rock the images!:D

And here’s one to start your morning laughing!

life’s a game

I was driving along the 4 lane CTE yesterday and saw something really unsual. A chameleon sprinting across the expressway!! Amazingly, it managed to avoid all 3-4 cars zooming past. Looks like there’s a X-games for chameleons going on around that area.

Life’s like that, it always takes a little courage to get to the other side. I just wonder what made it do it. I miss that feeling.

random randoms

Last week, I decided to get a small radio clock with ipod connectivity. I wanted something functional, nothing fanciful. So I sorta settled for a Sony model, but decided to make the salesguy work a little harder by asking, “do you know if it works with the videos?”. I bet no one asked such a dumb question before, but then again, he was very helpful and tried to demonstrate it with his iPhone.

This is the interesting part. While he was selecting the videos, he kinda tilted the phone away from me. I was like, what the heck. After he did his selection, he docked the phone onto the radio and started playing. I have no idea what went wrong while he did his selection, but the screen started showing some porn materials. I tried so hard not to laugh. Then I went, “so it works… I’ll take it (the radio, not the phone:P)”. Nearly died laughing in the car after that.

Yesterday, I popped by my parent’s place for lunch. Arrived a little earlier than usual, I decided to help my mum to cook some curry. And wow, it turned out really well, so much so that I had curry-lunch-dinner-(lunch again today). I’d say I played an pretty important role as the… “stirrer”. Everything else was prepared by her. I feel that’s a good start, so I’ll try to prep the ingredients the next round. Don’t pray pray ok… soon I’ll invent fat-barrel curry. *lol*

And my favourite song of the week… it’s a good song to have in your head when burning tyres on the track. Woohoo!!:D
