hobby

after more than a year…

I’ve decided I should be more consistent with my wakeboarding. That also means, riding with the same board. After visiting the chiropractor to treat my shoulder joint, I popped by Mike’s board shop at Far East Shopping Center. Had a little chat with the staff there and decided I should just get the board.

It’s the Slingshot Recoil 2007 model. Not the prettiest design, but hey, it’s going at a great price!:D More importantly, it’s now MINE!! Went straight to Punggol after that to try it out. What a ride it was. I can’t wait to go back again next week!

Some pictures from the web (from activewake.com). Mine’s the olive one,

Me in action

Taking a break from weddings. Finally, at the other end of the camera… woohoo!:D Good for spotting mistakes… and some awful expressions:P

RSM

RSM = Repair Service Maintenance

That sums up my day today. Spent the day buying parts at Sim Lim Square to fix up my harddisks. Finally got them all up and running. New keyboard (black looks less gross after use:P) for my main PC and a cordless one for the living room (now the daybed will finally be put into good use!). Sent my helicopter for repair (the dogs will get some peace finally).

In evening, I joined Kelvin and Eng Hong for court soccer at East Coast’s “cage”. Not bad at all, although it comes a little pricey at S$90 per hour. Especially when we didn’t have enough players. At one point in time, we were just kicking the ball around aimlessly. The guys out there must be thinking, these guys must be very rich, pay S$90/hr to kick around. Only towards the last half hour did we get some real action going on after we “loaned” some players from another team. I’m so looking forward to the next game:D

On the first 2 days of CNY:D

I made it a point not to work on those 2 days. Yes, I checked my email, but I’ll only reply after my holiday. Visiting isn’t my kind of thing, so I kept it to the minimum.

So what have I been doing? Since I don’t spend money buying new clothes, I got myself a new toy:D In fact, two. Couple of days back, I headed down to a hobby shop somewhere in Chinatown. 2 hours later, I lugged back 2 Remote Control helicopters. Okie! I know… it’s crazy. I have never seen that thing in action before and I know nuts about flying a heli. Easy now… so now, I’m going to learn how to fly one.

Spent the last 2 days crashing the first heli all over my living room, bedroom, anywhere with space and not much wind. We had some pretty close calls with my TV, windows, the two dogs and erm… my neighbour’s car:s After 2 days of practice, I’m a very happy man. Now I can fly pretty comfortably with that heli, at the expense of all the spare rotor blades that came with it. Next, I’ll have to fix up the bigger heli after I clear some work in the next few days. Can’t wait to fly that bugger outdoors!
