My alarm woke me up at 130am in the morning. Feeling tired and excited at the same time, I stuck my head out of the tent and saw the milky way on the other side of the sky and lights from head lamps trickling up the slopes beside it. This was it.
Taken right after dinner. I was terribly hungry after the almost 9 hour hike up base camp at 2600m. Muscles that I never knew I had cramped up and legs went jelly. That night, I requested for double the serving of dinner and finished them in half the time. That was when I heard someone outside saying ‘look at the stars!’. I crawled out of my tent and quietly went ‘wow…’.
Due to a change of plans, we camped under the canopy of trees instead of the edge of the crater, overlooking the lake. But that didn’t dampen our spirits as most of us came out to enjoy the last night out in the wild with a round of Bintang for everyone. When I looked up, the Milky Way was just right there, in the middle of the opening.
Taken at pre dawn on my last day on Gili Trawangan. For some reason, I woke up on my own at 5am and decided I should take a walk and perhaps catch the sunrise. When the first light hit the peak of Mount Rinjani, it brought back the days old memories when I was up there, watching the sunrise from the slopes. It was beautiful.
…and this is where I climbed.
Time stood still when this image was captured.
If only I have that kind of control over time in life. One thing I learned in life is, never (or try not to) plan for things like, ‘I will do this when I have time’. Because chances are, you will never have that time. Anyway, how is this World Cup season treating you?:)
It’s been awhile since I last did a recce on locations. I took the afternoon off and went off the parks with my Xootr. It was quite a workout but I had to burn off that two plates of char kway teow from Beach road:D Anyway, I decided to roam around the bay area since I had my Xootr with me and the terrain is pretty flat. Here are two images from the scoot-about:)
Cuts like a knife. But silly me, missed the tip by a little.
